 "Gheorghe Zamfir" International Pan Flute Festival.

The „Gheorghe Zamfir” International Pan Flute Festival reached its 5th Edition and took place in Găești, Dâmbovița, from 18 to 20  August 2023. The three days of the Festival offer the audience special musical surprises. Important artists from both the country and abroad performed on the stage in Central Park of Găești city, to celebrate the incomparable musician, Gheorghe Zamfir, and his enchanted Pan Flute. 
We thank those who made this project possible, our partners, the Ministry of Culture, the Găesti City Hall, the Dâmbovița Country Culture Center, and the Dâmbovița County Council!

"Gheorghe Zamfir" Museum 

Gheorghe Zamfir Museum opened in Găești - Dâmbovița

On Friday, the second day of December 2022, in Găesti, the "Gheorghe Zamfir" Cultural Center was inaugurated.

The center hosts a museum dedicated to the entire artistic career of the brilliant musician Gheorghe Zamfir.

 

The inauguration was attended by the Minister of Culture, Lucian Romașcanu, the vice-president of the Senate, Virgil Guran, the director of the National Museum of the "Dimitrie Gusti" Village, Paula Popoiu, the general director of the Bucharest National Opera, Daniel Jinga, the Mayor of Găesti, Grigore Gheorghe, the general director of the National Press Agency AGERPRES, Claudia Nicolae, representatives of the local authorities, the embassies of China, South Korea, and Japan, students of master Gheorghe Zamfir, and different guests.

2022

Gheorghe Zamfir - "SYMPHONY OF COLORS" Painting Exhibition

The master of Pan Flute, Gheorghe Zamfir, in the pose of a painter, exhibits in the foyer of the Studio Hall of TNB.

 

Starting from November 16th, 2022, the foyers of the Studio Hall of the "I.L. Caragiale" National Theater of Bucharest host a large exhibition of paintings signed by the "Master of the Pan Flute", Gheorghe Zamfir.

The SYMPHONY OF COLORS exhibition remained open until January 2023, and can be visited daily between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

"Dream of Pan Flute" International Pan Flute Masterclass - Bucharest- 2022 

The International Pan Flute Masterclass of Gheorghe Zamfir

took place, daily on, 18th and 19th of October 2022, at the  venue, "AGAPE" CHRISTIAN BAPTIST CHURCH, located in Bucharest, Romania.

This year we hade south coreean, romanian and italian guests.

At the end of it, Master Zamfir & Cazanoi Brothers delivered a very professional demo concert.

Gheorghe Zamfir - Extraordinary concert

 

In 21th of September 2018, at Constitution Square in Bucharest, Maestro Zamfir held an Extraordinary concert dedicated to his entire career. Special guest of the extraordinary concert, the French artist Enrico Macias joins master Gheorghe Zamfir for an exceptional duet. The concert was at the top performance along with Avi Toledano, Eugen Sarbu, Andrea Griminelli, Valentina Naforniță and many others international artists. 

The event dedicated to ZAMFIR’s entire career featured numerous national and international artists, like Orchestra Metropolitană București – conductor Daniel Jinga, Orchestra Națională „Lăutarii” – conductor Nicolae Botgros, Vasile Iovu, Paula Seling & K1, Cezar Cazanoi, Laura Bretan, Jen Luc Faraux, Aydin Yavas, Roar Engelberg, Gao Chunhua, Chang Kyun Kim, Petruța Kupper, Radu Nechifor, Claudia Iordache, Flavius Tinică, Mădălina Lupu. Iuliana Tudor, the beloved TV presenter, hosted the September 21th event.

 "Gheorghe Zamfir" International Pan Flute Festival.

The International Pan Flute Festival "Gheorghe Zamfir" reached its fourth edition.
This year we sow performing the following distinguished guests:

MY PANFLUTE - South Korea, CHANG KYUN KIM - South Korea, CEZAR CAZANOI,

DAN DUMITRU CREŢU,

ART QUARTET,

RADU NECHIFOR,

FLAVIUS TINICĂ,

RODICA ANGHELESCU, ALEXANDRU BURCĂ,

DANIELA GHIŢĂ and OLGA BĂLAN. These artists enjoyed the accompaniment of the "ZAMFIR 50" ORCHESTRA, led by the conductor DANIEL JINGA and ALEXANDRU ILIE and the RADIO FOLKLOR ORCHESTRA, led by ADRIAN GRIGORAŞ.

Speaking through an almost forgotten instrument (flute, whistle called Pan), modifying the form, construction and the pan flute technique, considerably widening the range of interpretation, Gheorghe Zamfir, The MASTER, as we love to call him, manages to conquer the entire planet.

He insist to insert the pan flute in all  musical styles, revolutionizing the sound and bringing this instrument to the attention of contemporary public.

Besides his prestigious career as a musician, he manifests itself in literature and visual arts, publishing poems, essays and an autobiographical book, exposing his paintings in the country and abroad.

 "Gheorghe Zamfir" International Pan Flute Festival.

Gheorghe Zamfir International Music Foundation, the Association for the Promotion of Talented Children and Young People in Romania, in partnership with the City Hall and the Local Council of Găeşti, Dâmboviţa County Council, Dâmboviţa County Culture Center and the Romanian Cultural Institute organized, between September 1-4 2016, in Găeşti, the International Pan Flute Festival “Gheorghe Zamfir”, 3rd edition.

In the hometown of the musician Gheorghe Zamfir there were performances of classical music, folklore, symphonic pop, recitals and moments with surprise guests.

Among the artists present in Găești were Vasile Iovu (Republic of Moldova), Alberta Alexandrescu (France), Cornel Pană (Switzerland), soprano Irina Baianţ, but also the famous Italian singer Francesco Napoli - who won the hearts of music lovers with the songs " Marina, Marina ”,“ Piano, piano ”or“ Balla Balla ”.

Jean Luc Faraux (France), Aydin Yavaș (Turkey), Claudia Diaconu-Iordache, Ana Cebotari (Republic of Moldova), Costel Enache, Ionuţ Micu, Vlad Spătaru (Austria) and Daniela Ghiţă also took the stage of the “Gheorghe Zamfir” International Nai Festival.

 "Gheorghe Zamfir" International Pan Flute Festival.

Born in Găești, Dâmbovița County, Gheorghe Zamfir is nicknamed the King of the Pan Flute! 

The second edition of the International Pan Flut Festival “Gheorghe Zamfir” 2015 opened its doors in Găeşti, in September. The Gheorghe Zamfir International Music Foundation and the A.P.C.T.T.R, in partnership with Găeşti City Hall, organized a complex cultural event between 10-13 September 2015.

The International Pan Flute Festival included exhibitions, classical music performances, folklore, pop music, recitals, awards and distinctions, an autograph session and moments with surprise guests.

Artistic personalities from the country and from abroad were present, respectively outstanding members of the Romanian Academy, diplomats and famous officials.

The Second edition of the Pan Flute Festival,  highlighted the career of over five decades of the most appreciated Romanian artist, nationally and internationally: the musician Gheorghe Zamfir, a prominent personality of the city of Gaesti, the land where he saw the light of day three quarters of a century ago.

2013

 "Gheorghe Zamfir" International Pan Flute Festival.

The Gheorghe Zamfir International Music Foundation together with the Union of Romanian Performing Musicians, in partnership with the Ecou Youth Association and the Arcuș Culture Center, organized, between April 21-25, 2013, in Sfântu Gheorghe, Arcuş and Brașov, the first edition of the "Gheorghe Zamfir" International Pan Flute Festival.

Between April 21-25, 2013, in Sfântul Gheorghe, Covasna and Brașov, a series of special events took place that included both Pan Flute and organ concerts, Pan Flute and oboes and a folk show of Pan Flute with taraf, as well as the exhibition “ Zamfir - 55 years in the service of the Pan Flute ".

Its opening was hosted by the Galleries of the Arcuș Culture Center (Covasna), where, along with the over 30 gold and platinum discs obtained by the Romanian musician over time, the public was able to see a series of paintings by Gheorghe Zamfir and a collection of Pan Flutes of various sizes, created by the musician.

The festival opened with an organ and panpipe recital, which Gheorghe Zamfir and Christian Micșunescu attended at the Roman Catholic Church of St. Peter and Paul in Brașov, on Sunday, April 21, starting with 20.30.

A chamber concert also took place in Covasna, on Tuesday, April 23, when the famous Romanian musician sang with Adrian Petrescu, first oboist of the “George Enescu” Philharmonic, and the Tiberius Quartet from Târgu Mureș. 

On the third day of the festival,

Gheorghe Zamfir and other protagonists of the event visited several kindergartens in Sfântu Gheorghe and read to the children stories from the book "Zamfir's Tales".

The Festival ended on the stage of the Sfântu Gheorghe Theater, where the maestro Gheorghe Zamfir gave an extraordinary concert, with taraf ( Folkloric band).

Musical concept by Gheorghe ZAMFIR in memoriam of Pope JOHN PAUL II

This project has been made available with the support and the blessing of the Catholic Church, namely of H.E. Monsenior Jean Claude PERISSET, Ambassador of the State of Vatican in Romania, and was launched on the 29th of June within the ROMANIAN ATHENEUM, Bucharest. Firstly it is an initiative that aims at a worldwide promotion of the spiritual message  of unification for Europe, as it was delivered by Pope John Paul II, and also his Spiritual Testament, both between the Christians in Romania and worldwide.

The two churches in brotherhood could therefore have a unique opportunity to deepen love between peers and feed it into an integrative and unifying  approach for the whole Europe. 

TOTUS TUUS International Project includes the launch and worldwide dissemination of the album released by GHEORGHE ZAMFIR and the organist NICOLAE LICARET, Director of George Enescu Philharmonics and cellist ALEXANDRU MOROSANU; this is part of a number of concerts in the biggest cathedrals over the world. The album was edited in a luxury package, which includes a biography of His Sanctity POPE JOHN PAUL II and a presentation of the highly spiritual meetings held between the Pope and GHEORGHE ZAMFIR.

This non-profit project (participation was exclusively invitation-based, no ticket sale) and was supported by the Roman-Catholic Archbishopric, The European Federation of UNESCO Centers and Clubs and UNESCO National Commission..
